I'm taking alprazolam 0.25 mg daily for my anxiety for 3 months.?

Suddenly for last few days I feel it is not working and I'm having muscle stiffness around my head & irritable. Any one tell me why it is? Is it because of side effect or I need to increase the dose? I think this is the minimum dosage available. Please advise.
